Constitutional Rights Under Fire…Yet Again

I should have known better that I would have to discuss this again. Is it really so hard to obey our rights? Republicans and conservatives alike are fighting for our rights and their lives as Election Day draws nearer. They are receiving threats. They are being bullied and harassed all because they are supporters of Trump and are right-winged. What happened to their first amendment right? No where to be found when it comes to scared little liberals. Apparently they only people who have rights are the liberal democrats. People are being censored on social media platforms all because they are posting facts. We can’t tolerate this! People need to understand that under our First Amendment we are guaranteed the right to free speech. Whether you like what I say or not, it doesn’t matter, because speech is protected. At least that is how it should be. But since I don’t agree with mainstream media and don’t agree with the Black Lives Matter movement, I am wrong and my opinion is “extremely problematic and potentially harmful.” Regardless that an opinion can’t be wrong. But I digress. I will always respect someone else’s opinion even if it doesn’t align with mine. But you are wrong if you think that it’s okay for our constitutional rights to be under fire. For a lot of people who scream equality, especially democrats, aren’t actually about equality. Specifically, when it comes to republicans and conservatives disagreeing with them. This has gotten way out of hand.

With that being said, let me be very clear, I will not back down without a fight and I guarantee you millions of Americans won’t either. I dare you to try and take away our rights and let me tell you, you will have tyranny on your hands in a fight you can’t win. We Americans aren’t going to sit idly by while our rights are slowly fading away. Today it’s free speech, tomorrow it’s guns.

Defunding the Police: A Truthful Representation

Before I get to the heart of my post, I want to make something abundantly clear. I am in no way discriminating against anyone in regards to their race, sexuality, or religion. If I don’t agree with what the mainstream media says or your opinion, it does not mean that I am discriminating, am full of hatred, or am angry. I have reached my opinion by conducting thorough research. This will be the first post in a series about current events.

Defunding the police is an extremely controversial topic. Most people either agree or disagree. As for me, I am on the fence about it. I recently asked my friend (who will go unnamed) what the basis for it was and this is what she sent me.

    • “So we do need police. But at a much smaller rate. It is unnecessary to have such a large scale operation that we have now. Like my story said, way too much funding goes to police when it should be going to doctors, teachers and forces who desperately need it. For gang shootings and extreme crimes, they may be necessary, but did u know that in domestic violence situations, the majority (80%) of victims said that they would not call the police again because their abuser often got a slap on the wrist and they were further abused as punishment. And according to a poll of homeless people, they said that they would rather have a mental health technician or social worker help them than a cop, who has likely not been trained in what is actually helpful. Also, most police are not even required to take de escalation training, hence the violent, chaotic, and uncontrolled manner cops are “helping to stop riots.” Right now, 1/3 of city funds go to the police force while after school programs, shelters, clinics, etc go woefully underfunded. Defunding the police is simply moving money to where it is really needed. Police are overflowing with riot gear and bulletproof vests and shields and helmets and a bunch of other unnecessary stuff when doctors are begging for masks. So basically once we have funded the social services and trained professionals to help in specific situations, our society will benefit so much more and police won’t be called to situations that they are untrained for and are not qualified to handle.”

I can understand the argument. But I’m still not entirely sure how I feel about it, but there are definitely some good points. I do agree that some police departments get way to much funding. I mean does New York City really need almost $5 billion in funding? But if those who are for defunding the police want to redirect funds, why give them to the education system? The education system gets between $650-$700 billion in funding. So maybe instead of defunding, make stricter guidelines on what the department can spend it on. Instead of a small town in Kentucky getting an MRAP, they can update security measures or do something else with the money. Instead of schools getting supplies in abundance they don’t need, get supplies that parent’s and teacher’s are forced to get year after year. If money is properly allocated and used with strict parameters in place, there would be less issues with an overabundance or just plain ridiculous things. What NYC needs, won’t necessarily be what a small town needs.

I also agree that cops should have more than the 21 weeks to occasionally 6 months of training. Cops are taught on the criminal justice system, firearms, and basic psychology. Police should be taught de escalation tactics as only a handful of states are required to use them. It also has to be remembered that we aren’t on the front lines everyday risking our lives for strangers. Split-second decisions are demanded at times and in the heat of the moment, all training can fly out the window once fight or flight has kicked in. None of my friends are my cops and neither are most of the people who cry out for defunding of the police from what I can tell.

I also think that a lot of people who scream “defund the police” don’t even know what they are talking about. I see a lot of people say that when in reality that are talking about abolishing the police. Which I can tell you right now will not end well. I think that most people forget that police put their lives on the line every single day and expect nothing in return. They don’t make enough to support a family. They make between $40-60k a year. That barely leaves enough money to put in your pocket once bills and taxes are deducted from a paycheck. And don’t get me wrong, there is police brutality. I don’t think you’ll find one person who doesn’t agree with that. I find that most people blow it out of proportion and also forget that we are all human. We aren’t anywhere close to being perfect so people need to stop expecting people to be and then getting mad when it turns out they aren’t. Everyone is going to make a mistake. Whether it be your neighbor, a policeman, or even our esteemed president. I will always proudly support the good men and women in uniform who protect this country. But police brutality is an in-depth conversation for another day.

So in the end, I am okay with defunding the police, but ONLY with strict stipulations.

I hope that what I have said sinks in and I hope you can make a properly informed decision based off of it. Continue to do your research and let’s keep this country great. 🙂

Black Lives Matter: The Truth Behind the Movement

We’ve already had this conversation, so why must we continue to talk about!?  Have we not already established that Black Lives Matter is not only racist, but is also selective in which black lives actually matter? You’ve never heard about David Dorn because the media didn’t report it. He was a retired officer in St.Louis. He was a hero. But don’t forget about the countless other black lives that have been lost over the past few months that you haven’t heard of. Why aren’t you screaming Black Lives Matter for them? Do only convicted felons who were justifiably shot by white police matter? What about the millions of black babies that are aborted year after year? The founder of Planned Parenthood built up that murderous organization with the sole purpose of killing black babies. So tell me, why are you only crying out for Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd when there are so many other black lives that go unrecognized?

No one is denying that Floyd wasn’t murdered, so why can’t we move on from that? You’ve said your peace now lets keep moving. Brooks was not murdered and frankly neither was Breonna Taylor. The media will only ever report what they want you to hear, which most of the time is fake news. The whole point of BLM is an agenda by the left as a ploy to get votes. If racism was really as big of a deal as the media and democrats make it out to be, don’t you think that your black president, Obama, would have dealt with that issue? The left is very scared of Trump holding the presidential title for another four years. Election years have always been the wildest in America. What better way to keep the people distracted from the real matters at hand than by creating false flags to guilt them into voting for no good people. Nobody in this world is perfect and the Bible proves it. So people need to stop acting like someone is and then get mad when they make a mistake. Trump is human just like everybody else so he is bound to make mistakes. I am not a huge fan of his character but his policies and leadership are pretty good. He has made strides for the black community in the past four years. Black are at an all time low for unemployment and poverty. (Before corona.) Blacks are no more oppressed than any other race in this country.

If you want to end racism, take Morgan Freeman’s advice and stop talking about race. It is that simple. Stop making things about one race and instead make it all inclusive for all races jobs. #AllLivesMatter, including #BlueLives.

Are you a Racist, or are you just being Offensive?

In the midst of the most recent pandemic– the coronavirus– people are losing their minds over stupid jokes about the origin of this illness. People have long since thought that jokes about a certain race is racist. But is it really? To be a racist in the truest since of the word, you must think that your race superior above all others. With that being said, calling some a “Cracker” because they are white doesn’t make me racist, because for one, it’s true, and number two I don’t think that calling someone names whether it’s true or not makes me superior because of my skin color.

Since we’ve covered that making jokes about people whose skin is a certain color, do coronavirus jokes fit into this criteria, or are they truly racist? Absolutely not! This is were the word offensive comes into play. Since these jokes aren’t racist it makes them offensive to those who don’t have thick skin. I understand that it may be worrisome to some people, especially when their children are made fun of because of this. It’s heartbreaking that people look at Asian people and they are bullied and attacked because of where they come from. I am in now way saying that any joke about any race is okay, most of the time they are wrong. But it’s okay to laugh. It’s okay to make jokes. But just realize that it may be wrong. That there is a time and a place for this kind of thing.

“Don’t worry, the Corona Virus won’t last long… It was made in China.” This joke is defintely wrong, but it is very funny. This joke is not racist at all. It may be offensive to Chinese people, but it’s not racist.

And my all time favorite coronavirus joke: Kung flu. (If you know, you know.)
Credit to my cousin for this material.

With that being said, educate your children. Teach them the difference between racism and being offensive.
